Ep 24 – Joanne Wooding from K9 Kookies
Joanne Wooding is the founder of K9 Kookies, creating natural, wholesome dog treats made from ingredients like homemade peanut butter, organic oat flour and fresh fruits and vegetables. After losing much of her vision due to intraocular lymphoma, Joanne adapted her lifelong love of baking into a business she can run from home, supported by her family, her two canine taste testers and the Disability Business Network.
In this episode, host Julie Woods talks with Joanne about building a natural dog‑treat business, adapting to vision loss, and using assistive technology to stay independent. Joanne shares how she develops new flavours, prepares for local markets and stays motivated through creativity and resilience. She also reflects on her goal of offering healthy alternatives to supermarket treats and encouraging other disabled people to pursue their business ideas with confidence.
