Job description Service Coordinator

Hours: Permanent part-time position, minimum of 32 hours per week up to 35 hours per week based on flexibility and negotiation.

Job specific information

This role coordinates services provided by CCS Disability Action across all services within our Marlborough Community. The position is responsible for working in partnership with the individuals and their families to develop, deliver and/or coordinate a range of person-centred services that aim to empower and enable the individual to achieve their personal lifestyle goals.

Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.

About you

We are looking for people who are able to demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes, and professional skills and knowledge:

  • An understanding of working with families/whānau, youth and adults and the ways to support people to continue to grow and develop.

  • Working knowledge of the Social Model of Disability, including person directed planning and community development practices.

  • Have an understanding and knowledge of the disability sector and can relate to disabled people in a positive affirming manner.

  • A strong commitment to providing quality support and outcomes to disabled people and their families.

  • A willingness to be flexible and seek opportunities to work in innovative ways.

  • Have the ability to form positive relationship, to develop and maintain community connections and networks with a focus on supporting the community towards greater inclusion for all people.

  • Have experience working with disabled people would be a distinct advantage.

  • Proficient in the use of data-based systems and general computer application.

  • Have strong time management and organisational skills.

  • Have a full driver licence.

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
