This role offers you an exciting opportunity to use your skills within the Waikato community which contributes to improving the health and wellbeing of disabled people.
The Senior Service Coordinator is responsible for the overall co-ordination of services provided by CCS Disability Action within the Waikato Region.
The position is a leadership role which involves relationship building, support and administration along with leading service staff who provide support services, information, and advocacy for disabled people and their family / whānau.
Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.
About the role:
Lead and coordinate high-quality services that are creative, flexible, and are responsive to the needs of disabled people and their families/whānau.
Lead and coordinate the delivery of contracted services, ensuring they meet funder requirements, agreed outcomes and organisational expectations.
Provide strong leadership and supervision to staff, supporting teams to deliver rights-based services aligned with our organisation’s values, policies and allocated funding.
Drive quality improvement initiatives and contributes to planning and service development.
Develop and maintain community connections and networks, promoting inclusion and community development.
Recognise and respond appropriately to safety and wellbeing concerns involving children, young people and vulnerable adults, and connect people with appropriate internal and external supports.
Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve services, strengthen team performance and achieve positive outcomes for the people and communities we support.
About you
We are looking for people who:
Have proven experience leading, managing and supervising staff and teams.
Can use initiative to identify and address issues before they escalate, make sound decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
Demonstrate initiative, proactive thinking and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond constructively to challenges and changing priorities.
Have experience working within the disability sector and in particular working with disabled children/youth/adults, their families/whānau and significant others.
Have a relevant Degree of Diploma in Social Services or Human Services, or acceptable equivalent qualification and/or work experience.
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and can build positive relationships with staff, families/whānau, funders and community partners.
Have a high degree of accuracy, strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Can demonstrate competence in contract management, monitoring and outcome reporting
Are positive, adaptable and able to actively support and lead change.
Make sound, considered decisions and is resourceful and solutions-focused when dealing with problems and issues.
Work within a rights-based framework.
Hold a current driver’s license or has access to transport.
