Job description Administrator

Hours: Casual on call position with varied hours

This is a busy role that provides the day to day supports for clerical and administrative duties as requested to enable our services across the branch, including Te Whare Poipoi, to function smoothly.

Job specific information

In a typical day you will be the welcoming, friendly person that greets all callers, contractors and visitors to the branch who will receive a responsive, efficient service. You will manage your time and tasks to ensure the day to day duties are completed and that records are accurate.

As an Administrator, you will:

  • Support the day to day operations of the branch in alignment with policy.

  • Provide cover when existing staff are on leave or training.

  • Provide additional administrative supports to cover workloads and projects.

  • Provide front reception administration support for the Mobility Parking scheme.

With the support of the Branch Administrator for our organisation, you’ll:

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support workers, hirers, tenants, and contractors.

  • Maintain the branch vehicle fleet to ensure registration and WOF are up to date, vehicles are regularly cleaned, all maintenance and repairs are carried out in a timely manner.

  • To ensure that accurate records are maintained of payments received and petty cash and to be ready for banking.

About you

We are looking for people who have:

  • Experience in a service delivery organisation.

  • Understanding of the disability sector and ability to relate to disabled people in a positive affirming manner.

  • Keyboard and computer experience and/or qualifications including word processing, desktop publishing and database skills.

  • High level of frontline reception and service skills.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • An understanding of accounting practices.

  • Relevant experience of and/or qualifications in general office and administration skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and be self-managing.
