About the event

Hosted in a beautiful private Wellington residence, this intimate afternoon will bring together exceptional music, elegant hospitality, and a shared commitment to creating opportunities for disabled young people.

Following the performance, guests are invited to enjoy afternoon tea and conversation with fellow supporters.

Your generosity will help CCS Disability Action support young disabled adults as they transition from school into employment, further study, and other pathways that strengthen independence, confidence, and community participation.

A donation of $100 per person will reserve your place. A donation receipt will be sent to the named payer.

Programme highlights

Duo for Violin and Cello by Zoltán Kodály, a captivating and dramatic work that weaves folk influences into a rich musical dialogue between two instruments.
Passacaglia by Johan Halvorsen, based on a theme by Handel and transformed into a dazzling series of virtuosic variations.
A selection of works by celebrated New Zealand composer Craig Utting, whose imaginative and humorous musical portraits draw inspiration from Wellington.

About the performers

Helene and Rolf Pohl are among New Zealand's most respected chamber musicians. For more than three decades they were cornerstone members of the internationally acclaimed New Zealand String Quartet, performing over 2,000 concerts together throughout New Zealand and around the world.

As a duo, they have inspired numerous composers to write works especially for them and continue to captivate audiences with their artistry, warmth, and musical partnership. They are also members of the piano trio Korimako.
