Spring concert 2026

Join us for a home concert and afternoon tea on 18 October 2026

CCS Disability Action would like to invite you to a Spring Concert on Sunday, 18 October 2026, 4pm to 6pm in Kelburn, Wellington.

The concert will feature musicians Helene and Rolf Pohl as a fundraiser for CCS Disability Action.

Please send your RSVP for the concert by 1 October 2026.

About the concert

Helene and Rolf are accomplished string players and we welcome you to enjoy the concert with afternoon tea following the concert.

Your contribution to this event supports young disabled adults as they move from school to work, study or other opportunities.

A donation of $100 per person will secure your seats. A donation receipt will be sent to the named payer.

The concert will include:

  • Duo for violin and cello by Zoltan Kodaly. This is an exciting and dramatic conversation between two instruments. Elements of folk music are brilliantly integrated into the musical language in a theatrical performance.

  • Halvorsen’s “Passacaglia” is based on a theme by Handel developed into a series of virtuoso variations.

  • Craig Utting, one of New Zealand’s most innovative composers uses humour, in a set of short pieces based on images of Wellington.

Helene and Rolf have decades of shared performances and create musical magic.  They were the “outer voices” and cornerstones of the New Zealand String Quartet for over 30 years. Helene and Rolf have performed over 2,000 concerts together. As a duo they have performed worldwide and have had numerous works written for them. They are also the string players in the piano trio Korimako.
