Kia Orana. My name is Ngatamaine Emma Kimiravenga Tauranga but you can call me Nga or Maine. My family calls me Maine and my friends call me Nga. I'm a Cook Islander Māori from Aitutaki and Mangaia in the Cook Islands, but I was born in Hastings, New Zealand.
I was born with Cerebral Palsy and I use a wheelchair. I’m non-speaking and use an alphabet chart and my computer to communicate with everyone.
I chose to join the board of CCS Disability Action because I bring lived experience of disability and a strong commitment to inclusive communities. I’m passionate about working alongside Māori and Pasifika peoples, and I’ve been actively involved in governance roles since I was 22. I bring strengths in leadership, teamwork, adaptability, creativity, motivation, and patience.
