Kia ora, my name is BJ Clark. I was born in Greymouth and moved to Nelson at age six. As a teenager, I joined the New Zealand Army, serving for 21 years, including over seven years overseas in Moscow, Singapore, Fiji, Antarctica, and the Sinai Desert.

After retiring from the military, I ran my own business for five years before joining CCS Disability Action, where I’ve worked for the past 26 years. I’m passionate about accessibility and inclusion, and I strive to help build communities where everyone can participate fully.

I’ve been involved with the Returned Services Association (RSA) for over 30 years, serving in roles from local executive to National President. Supporting those who have served our country is a lifelong commitment, and I work to ensure their service is honoured and remembered.

I’m married to Jill, and together we have a blended family of four children and six grandchildren. I also serve as a Justice of the Peace and a Marriage Celebrant, helping people through important life moments.

In recognition of my service to the RSA and the wider community, I’ve received the Queen’s Service Medal and was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
