The Road to Zero strategy will set out how road safety across New Zealand will be managed for the next ten years. You can read more about this on our earlier news item here.
There are many good things in the strategy e.g. reducing serious road crashes and making the road safer. We are especially pleased to see the recognition of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
While we think the Strategy has merit, we are concerned about the lack of consideration given to the rights and needs of disabled people.
