Graduate Profile: Marvin
Ruffage Dog Treat Co. is the inspired creation of Marvin – a passionate young entrepreneur with a love for the planet and his golden retriever, Mason. Together, they’ve set out to revolutionise the world of dog treats, one wholesome bite at a time.
Marvin’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. At just 14, he began using a wheelchair due to a rare genetic condition that causes mitochondrial fatigue and stiffness in his legs. Then, at 16, he lost vision in one eye after multiple retinal detachments. But life took a beautiful turn with the arrival of Mason – a career-changed Guide Dog who quickly became Marvin’s closest companion and motivator.
As Marvin learned to manage his own health through nutrition, he became deeply aware of the power of food to support wellbeing. That same care and attention now goes into every Ruffage treat, crafted to help dogs live long, healthy lives – without any added nasties.
You’ll find Ruffage at markets across Auckland, including the Grey Lynn Farmers Market every Sunday and the Smales Farmers Market on the North Shore each month. Marvin and Mason love meeting customers and their furry friends, so keep an eye out for them!
