The position is a leadership role which involves relationship building, support and administration along with leading service staff who provide support services, information, and advocacy for disabled people and their family/whānau.

As a Senior Service Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day workplace support and support leadership functions within the areas of Ashburton, Timaru, and Waitaki.

Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.

About you

We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes, and professional skills and knowledge:

  • Relevant Degree of Diploma in Social Services or Human Services or acceptable equivalent qualification and/or work experience.

  • Have experience working with disabled children/youth/ adults, their families/whanau, and significant others.

  • Ability to lead, manage, and supervise the team.

  • Networking skills and an in-depth knowledge of government, non-government and private sector services available within the community.

  • Great understanding of relevant legislation and government policies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and reporting skills.

  • Strong time management and organisational skills.

  • Have NZ full Driver’s License

  • Understanding of person and family centred planning and community development concepts, and have the willingness to be creative and innovative in delivering quality services.
