Job location: National Office - Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Taranaki or other Central Region locations by agreement

Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

Job specific information

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and values driven General Manager to lead our Central Region and provide senior operational leadership for CCS Disability Action Services.

The role is accountable for safe, high-quality, consistent and financially sustainable service delivery, strong people leadership, and effective regional relationships in alignment with organisational strategy and values.

You will play an active role as part of both the Operational Leadership Team and the National Leadership Team, with a focus on service delivery and performance, operational consistency and the implementation of strategy.

Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.

About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Senior leadership experience in disability, health, social services, or a related community sector.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex multi-site service delivery with strong people leadership.

  • Strong understanding of the social model of disability and rights‑based service delivery.

  • Experience working within delegated authority frameworks, budgets, and service contracts.

  • Knowledge of the not‑for‑profit and government funding environment.

We offer a supportive and caring work environment and truly value an environment where you can be your whole self. Te Aronui, our Strategic Priorities, reflect who we are and how we work. We value relationships, wellbeing and knowledge, all while keeping whānau haua (disabled people) at the heart of everything we do.

Why us?

At CCS Disability Action, we foster a supportive and inclusive workplace guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the New Zealand Disability Strategy. We uphold a strong human rights framework and promote equal opportunities for all.

Our strategic priorities, Te Aronui, shape how we work – valuing relationships, wellbeing, and knowledge while keeping whānau hauā/disabled people at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate diversity and offer flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance. Join our friendly, values-driven team and make a meaningful impact every day.

With a strong employee value proposition, we offer great employee benefits, job-related training, and clear career growth pathways. Whether you’re with us short-term or long-term, we provide the tools and opportunities for success. Our employee benefits programme includes:

  • Exclusive discounts

  • Free access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • A paid annual wellbeing day.
