Job location: National Office - Negotiable throughout New Zealand

Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

Job specific information

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and values-driven Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team and provide financial leadership across our national organisation.

As CFO you will provide strategic and operational financial leadership across the CCS Disability Action Group, enabling long-term sustainability, strong stewardship of resources and informed decision-making that supports disabled people to live connected and meaningful lives.

This is a senior executive role with national scope and genuine strategic influence. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will:

  • Lead financial strategy, sustainability planning, and stewardship across the Group

  • Provide clear, insightful advice to the Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team, and governance bodies

  • Oversee the national finance function, including financial systems, reporting, and payroll governance

  • Lead stewardship of organisational assets, including property and infrastructure

  • Support strong financial governance, risk management, and compliance

You’ll play a key role in enabling CCS Disability Action to be financially resilient, transparent, and future-focused at both organisational and service levels, while remaining deeply aligned with our values and purpose.

Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.

About you

You are a strategic and collaborative finance leader who can operate confidently at both executive and operational levels. You will bring:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in financial management

  • Proven experience in complex organisations, ideally in the not-for-profit or public sector

  • Strong understanding of long-term financial sustainability, governance and risk

  • Experience leading and developing a national or multi-site finance team

  • Ability to translate financial information into clear, decision-ready insights

  • Alignment with CCS Disability Action’s values, including a commitment to inclusion and Te Tiriti o Waitangi

We offer a supportive and caring work environment and truly value an environment where you can be your whole self. Te Aronui, our Strategic Priorities, reflect who we are and how we work. We value relationships, wellbeing and knowledge, all while keeping whānau hauā (disabled people) at the heart of everything we do.

Why us?

We celebrate diversity and offer flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance. Join our friendly, values-driven team and make a meaningful impact every day.

With a strong employee value proposition, we offer great employee benefits, job-related training, and clear career growth pathways. Whether you’re with us short-term or long-term, we provide the tools and opportunities for success. Our employee benefits programme includes:

  • Exclusive discounts

  • Free access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • A paid annual wellbeing day.
