The election of Mojo Mathers as New Zealand’s first Deaf MP should lead to a more accessible Parliament for disabled people, according to CCS Disability Action

“Ms Mathers is a very qualified candidate and her presence will result in a Parliament that is accessible for a broader audience,” Jonathan Tautari, Policy and Information Leader at CCS Disability Action said.

Disability Innovation Fund

Ministry of Social Development logoThe Disability Innovation Fund was announced by the Government in November 2011.

The Fund is for innovative projects from the employment sector, NGOs or disabled people’s organisations to get disabled people into jobs or to retain them in jobs.
