What services does CCS provide?CCS offers education and training, specialist advice and support about disability and related issues such as:
· Access
· Adapted equipment and environments
· Customer service
· Positive communication and etiquette
Services are tailored to customers needs. Most programmes and advice are developed and by the experts, disabled people themselves.
Why should I use this service?A community that values and includes everyone is a better community for everyone. Disability awareness programmes:
· Are good business since 20% of the community live with disability
· Disabled people have valuable contributions to make to every community
· Provide staff with the knowledge and skills to interact and communicate positively with disabled people, enabling services to be delivered more effectively and with fewer complaints
· Promote understanding of disability issues, encouraging the school environment to be aware of and welcoming of differences, having better outcomes for all students
· Anyone can become disabled, and most New Zealanders have some connection with disability through a friend or family member
· Increase positive attitudes, and encourage inclusion for disabled people in all aspects of their lives
