CHANGING HEARTS & MINDS

The way everybody in our communities thinks and responds to disabled people and disability issues has a big affect on the lives of disabled people and their families. At CCS Disability Action we aim to affect change in communities so disabled people have access to the same opportunities as all other New Zealanders.

The New Zealand Disability Strategy, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Treaty of Waitangi and a community development approach guide us. We pride ourselves on being leaders, being innovative, and being collaborative. We act, and we constantly reflect on what has been achieved and how to achieve more. Together we can shift our society forward to make it more inclusive of disabled people.

Influencing Government
We work to ensure the rights of disabled people are acknowledged and included in all aspects of life. We work with central and local government. We raise issues politically, make policy submissions and seek to achieve full citizenship for all.
